I had the pleasure of hearing a lecture by Susan Rogers where she talked about her time as a recording technician for Prince. Pretty much his whole time at the height of his career she worked for him.

Interestingly she talked about how Prince came from a nowhere place, and he grew up very poor. Yet he signed his first record deal when he was just 18 years old. By the time he was 24 he was a multi-million dollar musician. Michael Jackson, she said, was mentored and groomed from the time he was little. He was picked to be a star, and he had all these great producers, and former artists helping him out. Prince was a self-made guy that competed right up there with Michael.

I found that inspirational

What if I get carpal tunnel or arthritis before I start making this writing stuff pay off? I pray to God, in the name of Jesus Christ, that he will take care of me. So be it.

If you get a chance to listen to my new single, "This Town" by Justin Hackett, it's on iTunes, and streaming everywhere they stream music.
